		<description>Hi Mahesh!

I&#039;ve been blown away by your kind and helpful emails about finding an agent, so I went to the site of the book cover design contest to see if we&#039;re on the same page as to the best entry. Here&#039;s my take: #3191, the one with the frayed knot, which totally emphasizes the need for hope. The others are either nondescript, or cliche.

Well, that&#039;s my opinion. That one really stands forth. I&#039;m a writer at heart (I&quot;ve got an unpublished novel and a graphic novel, filmscripts up the galore, but as a designer/artist by profession (see my web page, please), I can&#039;t be wrong about this selection? Well... I really don&#039;t think so, but would like YOUR opinion!

		<description>Dear Mahesh,
Felicitations on Rosh Hashana!
I like 2671 by Lopez 4. The cover is dark but the strong and lovely hands which entwine and intertwine are very powerful, particularly in these trying times in which most of the world finds itself. The colors of the letters The Hope You Need are in blue, a vibrant , primary color of the Universe .It is loaded with symbolisms as well as subliminal messages to the would be reader.
Many of the designs stood out for their inane lack of creativity and originality although they looked attractive. I think selling that particular type of book needs more than &quot;attractive&quot;. I don&#039;t mean to be churlish, just candid.
Yours most cordially,
Contessa Isabella Vacani</description>

		<description>hello,
I just wanted to stop by and say hi,
I also did something similar with my books - kept on a website for free downloads. Only problem was that most people already know about it from the 1990s, and I can&#039;t seem to convince them to buy it in paper form.

		<description>This is for Mahesh:
I enjoy your informative newsletters and this current one is very intriguing. Myself, I am not an agressive go-getter, put yourself out there kind of person. That is not my talent. Like a lot of artists, I am more passive and introverted, thinking it my job to create and not sell. Publishing has changed much since I first began submitting my work over 20 years ago. It is a sad state of affairs, that the creative people are having to hawk their wares instead of spending their time on writing more things. And instead of getting paid for their works they are often having to spend their own money to get their stuff read--by even a small audience. I have taken the ideas YOU have offered in your newsletters that are palatable to me and tried to put them to use to the best of my ability and I think it has made a difference and I thank you.

<description>I agree with the logic behind this article, Mahesh. So called &#039;Friends&#039; can sometimes turn out to be one&#039;s enemies, and sometimes someone whom one sees as an enemy can later be viewed as a friend. Thank you for referring me to this article. ( I actually did exactly what this article recommends, on my own. I proofread and edited my manuscript 7 times in 7 months within the last year. It is now at least 3 times better written than it was at the time that a crituquer gave it a very good review. I do not believe in resting on laurels. It&#039;s a very vain foundation to rely on. <description>It&#039;s nice to meet you, Mahesh. The universe was taking care of me today. My husband send me a copy of your e-mail. He did that because I just wrote an article on Free, too, and had just told him I plan to take one of my old books and turn it into a freebie--no strings. So that&#039;s on my to-do list. But YOU made me move it up to my SOON to-do list.
Very best,
Carolyn Howard-Johnson
